Lamontville Golden Arrows FC strengthen coaching staff with ex-Sundowns star
Lamontville Golden Arrows FC have bolstered their technical team ahead of the new season by appointing former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyanda Zwane as an assistant coach. The 38-year-old brings extensive experience to Abafana Bes’thende after retiring from playing in 2020 following his time with Uthongathi FC.
What does Zwane bring to the team?
Zwane joins the backroom staff led by newly appointed head coach Pitso Dladla, who took charge after Manqoba Mngqithi's departure. The ex-defender will work alongside fellow assistant James Madidilane and goalkeeper coach Jacob Mokhasi, who were added last month. Zwane previously played for Arrows between 2006 and 2014 before moving to Sundowns, where he had a loan spell back at Arrows.
Why this move matters for Arrows
Since retiring, Zwane has stayed involved in football through media work as an analyst on TV and radio. His return to the club where he spent eight seasons comes at a crucial time as Arrows prepare for the new Betway Premiership campaign. The team was recently seen in action at the KZN Premier’s Cup in Durban, with Zwane already on the bench alongside Dladla.
What’s next for Golden Arrows?
With the new season approaching, Arrows are shaping up their technical setup under Dladla’s leadership. Zwane’s experience as both a player and analyst is expected to add value to the team’s defensive strategies. Fans will be watching closely as the Durban-based club aims to build on their recent performances.
