Lamontville Golden Arrows FC land Siyanda Zwane for assistant role
Lamontville Golden Arrows FC have appointed former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Siyanda Zwane as assistant coach for the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
The move is the first major announcement under new head coach Pitso Dladla, who took charge in May 2026 after Manqoba Mngqithi’s departure. Zwane, 38, retired from playing in 2020 and has since built a reputation as a tactical analyst on local media.
Why Zwane’s arrival matters for Arrows
Zwane’s six seasons at Sundowns included three PSL titles and two Nedbank Cup wins, giving him intimate knowledge of winning systems. His appointment signals Dladla’s intent to blend defensive solidity with modern tactics.
The technical staff now includes goalkeeper coach Jacob Mokhasi and assistant James Madidilane, both appointed last month. Together they form a unit Dladla hopes will push Arrows back into the Betway Premiership’s top half.

Zwane was on the bench for Arrows’ KZN Premier’s Cup opener against Durban City on 20 July 2026 in Durban. The fixture marked the first public glimpse of the new backroom team in action.
Dladla has been clear about his goals: consistent performances that lift Arrows above mid-table. “We want to compete every week,” he told reporters after the match.

Since retiring, Zwane has studied the game from the sidelines, breaking down opponents’ patterns on television broadcasts. His analytical approach complements his playing CV, where he was a fixture in Sundowns’ back three under Pitso Mosimane.
